Product Description: How to Install the Auger Motor: 1. Locate the 4 screws under the hopper that hold the bottom grate in place and remove them. 2. Remove the 1/4-inch bushing screw holding the auger to the grill frame. 3. Use force to loosen any jams by pulling the auger motor back and forth by hand. 4. Remove the shear pin with a 5/16-inch socket wrench to free the auger from the auger motor. 5. Disconnect the old auger motor and connect the replacement motor.

Normal Auger Motor Behavior: It's normal for the auger motor to sway or rock occasionally as it feeds pellets through the auger shaft.

Identifying Unusual Auger Motor Behavior: a) Turn the switch off and locate the small fan blade on the back of the auger drive motor. b) With caution, turn the switch on. If the fan blade does not turn, the motor is defective and needs replacement. c) If the fan blade turns slightly and then stops, there may be a jam that needs to be cleared. d) Disconnect the power cord and remove pellets from the hopper to check for jams in the auger system.
